The Timberwolves practiced Monday morning with their 15-man roster set just hours before today’s 5 p.m. NBA deadline and with Randy Foye, opening night’s presumed starting point guard, watching from the sideline because of a knee that continues to cause him pain. Wolves coach Randy Wittman expected Foye to be ready to practice after he sat out more than two weeks because of knee tendinitis before playing in Friday’s exhibition finale against Milwaukee and was concerned when Foye couldn’t go on Monday morning. Last week, he appeared ahead of Sebastian Telfair as both tried to heal from injuries.Telfair played 27 minutes in that game, Foye 16. Wittman said Foye would be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
