The NBA’s deadline for college underclassmen to remove their names from the June 26 passed Monday with Arizona’s Chase Budinger and North Carolina’s Ty Lawson deciding to return to school.

The Wolves on Monday worked out potential late first-round or early second-round picks, including Memphis’ Chris Douglas-Roberts, on Monday and welcome UCLA’s Kevin Love in a grouping of big men expected at Target Center this morning.

The Wolves will hit the road to see other potential players for their third overall pick: They’re scheduled to watch Italian forward Danilo Gallinari work out in Los Angeles on Friday, where they also will get another look at Brook Lopez, and then will fly all night Friday to see O.J. Mayo in a multi-team workout in Chicago on Saturday.

So far, Michael Beasley will work out only for Chicago and Miami, but that could change for the Wolves as draft night approaches. One Wolves decision maker said its a long shot for the team to get Beasley and thinks Pat Riley’s posturing that he might take O.J. Mayo second overall is a bunch of hooey.
