Got into town this afternoon, just in time to shuttle between O.J. Mayo’s game with Memphis upstairs at the Cox Pavilion and the Wolves’ evening practice downstairs. The Wolves don’t play a game until Monday, but there’s lots of familiar faces with 21 teams here:

*Gerald Green is playing for Dallas after signing a one-year minimum deal with the Mavericks this month.

*Former Wolves coach Dwane Casey, hired by Rick Carlisle as his assistant in Dallas, is the Mavs’ head coach here.

*Minneapolis’ own John Thomas, center for that 1997 Gophers’ Final Four team, started for Milwaukee against Memphis Saturday night at age 32.

*Wolves legend Ndudi Ebi is here with New Orleans after playing one game with Oklahoma City before getting the hook in the Orlando Summer League.

*Winona State star Jonte Flowers, a late addition to Detroit’s team, played 89 seconds and didn’t register a blip in the boxscore in the Pistons’ victory over the Lakers on Friday.

*Former DeLaSalle High and Michigan State guard Alan Anderson is playing for Memphis.

*Minnesota State Mankato guard Luke Anderson is on the 76ers roster.

*The Wolves tried to get former Houston Rockets guard John Lucas to play on their summer league team, but he’s here with Toronto.

*Loren Woods, the former Wolf center, is on Houston’s roster after signing with them during last season.

*Mayo, a Wolf for about five hours, scored 15 points, had eight turnovers and provided a thunderous dunk over which he glared at a heckling fan in Friday’s opener with Memphis.

*Former Wolves forward Chuck Person is Sacramento’s head coach here. He coached the Kings to a victory Saturday over Toronto, whose head coach, former Wolf Sam Mitchell, watched from the stands.

*Original Wolves trainer Jay Jensen is tending to the Portland team.
