Everything is new in a new season, even the court

Somebody (Chris, I think) asked about it a couple of days ago, so…
Workers are scheduled to install the Target Center’s new court on Tuesday. You’ll probably see some video of it on the Web or nightly news that night.
So far, it’s hushed in secrecy, but I’m hearing that the parquet look of the current court is out. Also, reportedly there’s no paint in the paint. I’m sure you’ll also see that new secondary “Wolf’s head” logo somewhere on there.
The free-throw lane is defined instead simply by lines rather than a solid block of painted wood and the area inside the three-point arc is stained slightly different than the rest of the court. The new look probably is something similar to the Phoenix Suns’ court.
Meanwhile, the Wolves returned to practice Sunday after taking Saturday off with everybody who was the roster when cuts were made on Thursday still there. The waiver process doesn’t end until 5 p.m. Monday because the NBA doesn’t count Saturday and Sunday as working days (I don’t know why not, the schedule maker never gives you those days off). There’s still a decent chance the Wolves could trade Calvin Booth’s salary slot or buy him out of his expiring $1.14 million contract in the next few weeks and bring back, say, Chris Richard or acquire a player cut by another team.
“The only thing you can be certain about is uncertainty in this league,” Booth said. “That’s how I’m approaching it. I’m certain that I will continue to work. I’m certain I can play in this league if given the opportunity. I’m just taking it day by day while I’m here.”
Also on Sunday: Kevin Love was looking mighty pale. He came down ill Saturday night and practiced Sunday but didn’t look like he was feeling too well. He said he’d be ready by Wednesday.
