I saw the new Target Center court this afternoon, and I got a bad scoop from an inside source: There is paint in the “paint,” blue inside the lane, black on the edges. The court is a cool two-tone look. It’s lighter stained inside the three-point line, darker wood on the rest of the court. There’s the big primary Wolf head at center court (no trees, no Timberwolves I believe) and the new “secondary” logo on either end.

The team held a shorter practice, for about 90 minutes, Tuesday morning. Kevin Love’s got six family members — mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt and uncle (yes, Uncle Mike from Beach Boys fame) — coming in for his NBA debut. Before Tuesday’s practice, he did indeed wear an apron and hand out coffee at a downtown Starbucks.

“We were giving out $100, $200 tickets, nice seats,” Love said. “And I still was not getting any tips. I’l have to work on that next time.”
