Foye back in starting lineup for tonight’s game against 76ers

Randy Foye returned to the starting point guard spot tonight for the first time since the season’s fourth game. He replaced Sebastian Telfair, who has barely played in the last three games while Foye has shaken off his early-season malaise and has played better in recent days. He scored a season-high 18 points in 39 minutes in Sunday’s loss at Denver.

Randy Wittman said he made tonight’s move because he thinks Foye’s confidence is back and because he hopes the outside shooting of Foye, Ryan Gomes and Mike Miller — in tonight’s starting lineup with Jason Collins and Al Jefferson — will create more space for Jeferson to work inside.

Craig Smith had a great offensive game, like he tends to do against Philly with 21 points and 5 assists. But, he gave up too much size on the glass to Brand and Dalembaert. 0 rebounds in 26 minutes for Smith while Brand had 13 and Dalembaert had 11 and 9 for Iguodala. We can’t play that type of smallball and win consistently.

We match up against the 76ers pretty well. We are now the second worst team in the league. Climbing up the standings baby!

Mike Miller is never going to get enough shots, he is our second best creator on offense but Al Jefferson doesn’t pass so Mike Miller is going to just have to look for his own shot more. Jefferson gets double and triple teamed a lot and he is averaging under 2 assists a game. That is ridiculous. With Gomes, Miller and Foye he has good shooters but it seems Miller is getting the assists and playing team basketball. He still needs more than 7 or 8 shots a game. I was saying that 2 weeks ago, run 10-12 set plays a game for him. Out of bounds plays start of quarters, stuff like that.
