Spurs at Wolves

No setbacks for Mike Miller this afternoon, meaning it’s all systems go tonight for the sharp shooter. Good thing, too. The Wolves will need his touch if they expect to keep it close again against the Spurs. Six words: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili.
Kevin McHale, though, cautioned that Miller hasn’t really participated in a meaningful practice since injuring his ankle. Actually, nobody on the team has since McHale took over. So he doesn’t know what to expect.
“We’ve had our feet on the floor more in games than we have in practice,” he said. “It’s very hard for you to walk down to the other coach and say ‘coach, could you not run that play, we’re having a devil of a time stopping it’ or ‘you know what, can you get this guy to do this? We’re trying to run our play like this and this and this guy screwed up his assignment.’ That doesn’t work real well.”
Other items of note:
- Minnesota is in the midst of an eight-game stretch against teams with a combined winning percentage of .644. Upcoming games include the Lakers (18-3), Cavaliers (19-3) and Rockets (14-8).
- Randy Foye has led the Wolves in scoring in five of the last 10 games.
- Matt Bonner leads the NBA in three-point percentage this season at 51 percent. He has hit three or more threes in four games this season.
- Calvin Booth and Mark Madsen are your inactives tonight for the Wolves. And, of course, Corey Brewer is still out and will be for the rest of the year.
Fifty minutes til the tip. I’ll be back with a post after the game.

I kind of like the way you write Brian…
It’s also refreshing to see that McHale never lost the sense of humor that made him a good play by play guy for the Wolves…
Too bad, it shows how little he acknowledges the fact that he’s a failure beyond belief as a VP/GM…
With up to 7 picks coming up… and all the players that the team has locked up…
To me it’s more about just getting this season over with. Getting Foye and McCants out of here… probably trading Miller too.
they had a decent 1st half; lets see how they continue
