the wolves could easily fill out their roster with youngsters from the draft

problem is - you get one realy good player assuming we finish top 5 (Thabeet!!) then the rest is a crapshoot. most likely the picks won't be higher than high teens (and we might not even get Utahs); also, we owe a 2nd rounder for the dupre trade, so that is probably out. in addition, the 2 2nd rounders from miami will be the lowest of the 3 they have (so potentially none higher than 40 something).

i like some of the names you threw out there. we must get Thabeet as he is what we've needed for ages. Then, trade one of the late 1st rounders (bostons or Utahs) for a nba ready pg like felton or conley (which ever plays better Defense).

then we need to get a solid 2 guard that can slash and score. McCants seems to have forgotten he can do that, so if we don't get Thabeet (lets hope we do), we'll draft Harden. If we get Thabeet, we need a 2 guard that can shoot and score (Imagine if we had Chalmers and Mayo...). Then the team will have balance.

There will be room ... Carney (team option), McCants (qualifying offer), Ollie (fa), Booth (fa), and Collins (fa), all probably won't be back. Madsen and Cardinal are both signed through next year, and the Wolves might as well keep them as their contracts ($9.5 mil combined) expire after next season

I like Tyrese Rice as a 2nd round PG option. He could be a spectacular option for this team. The kid can play excellent defense, and knows how to pass the ball which is something that most point guards don't seem to understand anymore... I mean just look at our point guard. He gets 5-6 assists in a game and is happy.

Pooh Richardson use to get 8-12 in a game and he was average. Plus the guy scored 10 points a game!

The odds of Ricky Rubio coiming out this year is 30/70. The odds are that he comes here to the NBA in 2010 to be the big prize to get his chance hopefully play the role of 2nd prize to the big free agent signings that offseason.

And to those of you who wondered why I had us picking 4th. Two reasons... I made my list Thursday when we were the 4th worst team, and I figured the Wolves wouldn't get a top 2-3 pick anyways because we never get lucky.

This draft doesn't have the depth that the last 2-3 drafts have... no kidding... those were two of the best drafts ever. Although the Wolves need SGs and PGs and possibly a SF scorer... and that is what this draft is going to be loaded with.

We don't have 5 roster spots open, but if we trade Foye, McCants, and don't resign Madsen, Cardinal, Collins, or Carney... we will have more than enough room, and they will all be cheap enough to keep massive amounts of room on the cap.

matt... Rubio has been the guy that I've wanted for a long time but there have been reports that he will wait until the 2010 draft to come over. That could actually work well for us b/c then we could get Harden/Thabeet this year and then Rubio next year.

McMillen is really making a difference as Coach. If only they would buy into his system like Taylor buys into it, Then we'd have something. Coach Mchale is all that and a huge bag of Dorito's. Go Coach Kev! The players 'Gotta Believe' (or they'll get shipped off like your 'friend' Flip)

Anyone who has watched the majority of their games this year, can't help but say that they are performing better under McHale. Look at the previous management (Stein, McClosky) for really bad management. As many mistakes as McHale has made, and he has made many, he doesn't compare to those guys.
Foye has been significantly better in the last few weeks. I hope McCants keeps putting more effort on defense. Most of the year, that was lacking. He has ability, but hasn't put forth the effort on the defensive end. I would trade Gomes. He has the least amount of upside of the rest of the young guys, and really doesn't play defense any better then McCants.

What about Ricky Rubio?? I think he could be a mix between Steve Nash and Manu Ginobili. I'd take him if the wolves got the 2nd pick.
