LeBron James comes to Target Center tonight for his lone visit of the season. There might have been a slight chance the Cavs could overlook the home team, but that probably vanished when their 11-game winning streak ended Saturday at Atlanta.
They’re looking to start another long streak, the Wolves are looking not only to end their 10-game losing streak, but to get out of December sometime without an 0-fer.
On Sunday, Ryan Gomes drew Kobe Bryant for his defensive assignment. Tonight, he’ll likely start on LeBron.
“Everybody is going to get LeBron, the whole team,” Kevin McHale said. “You’ve got to load up with him. He’s special. They’ve got it working right now. They’re tied in defensively. They play off each other really well. That’s where we’ve got to get to: Reading and reacting to what the defense does. If you overcompensate here, they attack there. If you overcompensate there, they attack here. That’s the way basketball is played.”
Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Boobie Gibson are not expected to play for the Cavs tonight because of injuries.
