Here we go again…

Another day. Another mandatory post-practice meeting. Another condensed media session with your Wolves. So there’s not a whole lot to say once again.

Sorry, folks. Not much I can do about this. A player I was interviewing was actually pulled away this afternoon. Frustrating.

So here’s your big update: we actually got to watch a little bit of practice. It was the tail end of a scrimmage, with the team working sets using a zone defense.

“I would like to get our man-to-man tied in a little bit more but we’re going to have to maybe do some zone,” McHale said. “It’s a process.”

As are so many other things.

Not much else to report. Rookie Kevin Love did not have to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to McHale, who turned 51 today. “That’s just for players,” McHale said. “I don’t need guys reminding me it’s my birthday.”

Big Yao Ming and the Rockets are in town tomorrow after playing Sacramento tonight. Jerry’s back in action then. Stay tuned for his updates.

On a serious note.

Brian -

Do you know of why Telfair hasn’t been playing?

I’m not sure what to think about zone defense. Seems worth a try given how bad they are in the man-to-man, but given their utter lack of coordination in playing team defense, one wonders if they might actually be worse in a zone.

BC Beneke Brandon Roy was awesome last night. Jerry Zgoda is that a new hairstyle you are sporting totally awesome. 52 points incredible.

After the game Wednesday, McHale was asked about this. He said he had planned all along to go with a short bench against the Cavs. McHale wanted a rhythm - so supposedly that was with Ollie and Foye.
Specifically, he said:
“It’s hard. You can’t play all 12 guys. That’s very hard. I’d rather not play a guy than play him four minutes. It’s unfair to the player.”

Timberwolves need to shoot from further then right next to the basket to spread out the defenses. A good perimeter shooter or 2 for the Wolves would really help the team out

Another thing that could help out the team would be to dump the whole team in the garbage and throw gas ontop of it other then Jefferson, KLove and CSmith. The Wolves need a True Center a SG and a PG. Maybe instead of taking a chance on who we draft we could trade away a pick or so and pick up a player that is really good instead of a player to take a chance on.

,” McHale said. “I don’t need guys reminding me it’s my birthday.”

Fair enough Kev, but what can be done about the fans being reminded of your idiotic decisions that have built this team?

Sorry if I don’t get you a present.

Jerry - I just wanted to say that I feel sorry for you. Covering the Wolves has to be a nightmare. Did you piss someone off?

Taylor is waiting to see if he quits or until we have the worst record and with the Thunder getting Kristic they might get a couple more wins and pass us for all we know.
