Jefferson named Western Conference Player of the Week

Big Al got rewarded by the NBA on Monday for leading the Wolves to their first winning week last week.
He and Detroit’s Rodney Stuckey got the conference Player of the Week honors for games played last Monday through Sunday.
Jefferson averaged 27.3 points on 52.4 percent shooting and 12.3 rebounds. Included were a season-high 38 points and 16 rebounds in a 108-98 overtime victory over Memphis a week ago today. He is eighth in the league in double-doubles with 18 and is one of only there players — Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan are the others — who are averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds a game.
The Wolves practiced on Monday and now are flying to Memphis for Tuesday’s game. Kevin Ollie did not practice and was still at the doctor when practice ended, so the extent of the dislocated elbow he injured in Saturday’s victory at Chicago isn’t yet known. Stay tuned.

Nice…he played well enough to get it.
Indeed, a well deserved award.
With a little more effort against Dallas he could have been truly great. I don’t mean only offensive.
I do really like Mchale as a coach, people aren’t playing with a gun to their head. UHhhhhhhhhhhh except Mcwonts.
Yes, but what will this string of recent success do for our strategy of drafting Ricky Rubio and trading him for Tyler Hansbrough on draft day?
