We don't have cap space. If we wanted to sign Livingston, we could sign him at the minimum, or use one of our two salary cap exceptions. However, we would first have to clear a roster spot by getting rid of a player.

I am suprised we do not see more speculation regarding Livingston... Given the interest that we supposedly had in october, I would think that he would be ripe for picking now... Does anyone know how that would impact our cap space? Do we have any cap space?

Hahaha! I see your point though Jama. I do think NBA players last a little longer in their prime than NFL players though. I think Butler will turn 30 sometime in the 2010 season. Hopefully by then we will be in a position to make a playoff push.

W

The Wolves aren't going to have cap space until the 2010 season. By then Butler is going to be a declining veteran with a bloated contract.

With tons of cap space soon available and lots of draft picks, the Wolves could do themselves a favor and trade for a 'quiet' midwestern star player in the mold of Devin Harris.

And that player is Caron Butler. The Wizards might be going to the rebuilding path and Butler is from Racine, WI - and more importantly is a great athlete and All Star type player if he played in a bigger market. He is a 20-5-5 guy, playing the 3 position.

Yes Brian, there were so few fans in the stands that one could hear McHale clearly throughout most of the game. His comment to the ref that you quote was a good one.

I'm afraid that I'm actually starting to like McHale as a coach. If he keeps this up he may turn around and become beloved once again by fair weather Minnesota fans.

On suggestion for the new coach:

Work on Kevin Love's acceleration. He didn't look obnoxiously slow moving up and down the court once he got up to speed, but he looked dreadfully slow on his stops, starts and changes in direction. If he can learn to speed up his quickness in that aspect he won't get beat up and down the floor so badly and so often.

Other than that they looked pretty good. Foye was playing with high confidence and Telfair even played some good defense at times. The team is playing at a high level right now and it's fun to see.
