The win streak is now at five — and the Wolves have won seven of their last nine — after tonight’s comeback victory over the Bucks that asked this question:

Who needs Al Jefferson and Kevin McHale?

McHale got ejected at the end of the first quarter for questioning too persistently the officiating and Jefferson fouled out with 89 seconds left and still the Wolves persereved, overcoming deficits of 14 points in the first quarter and four in the final nine minutes.

The Wolves withstood a tough Bucks defense that locked up Jefferson and Randy Foye early and proved resilient, thanks to Rodney Carney’s three-point shooting and season-high 22 points and Foye’s fourth quarter, when he scored 10 of his 11 points.

The Wolves made 13 three pointers, and still won by just a bucket. Foye’s three pointer with 2:33 put the Wolves ahead to stay at 103-10. They got those 13 threes by penetrating the Bucks off the dribble as the game wore on and then by kicking the ball out of the open man, which was Carney twice during a 10-0 late in the third quarter that got the Wolves back in the game and then was Foye in the fourth.

The Wolves now have won 11 games, and still only one of them is over a team with a winning record (Detroit). But Foye called the Bucks a legitimate playoff team in the Eastern Conference and hailed the victory as proof of his team’s confidence and ability to succeed even after Jefferson went to the bench with his fourth foul.
