The Wolves broke that three-game losing streak tonight in a weird, wacky game that offered just about everything, except maybe defense.

Al Jefferson scored just two points in the first half — and took just three shots against the Pacers’ intent defense — and the Wolves still won.

Randy Foye nearly had a double double — 19 points and nine TURNOVERS — and the Wolves still won.

The Wolves trailed by nine points with nine minutes left and led by six with lessĀ  than 30 seconds left and did everything they could to give the game away…and still they won.

They committed two turnovers — Mike Miller’s bobbled away ball as the Pacers’ trapping defense closed on him and Foye’s pass thrown through Sebastian Telfair’s legs — in those final 27 seconds, but they prevailed thanks to two missed free throws by T.J. Ford in those final seconds and Danny Granger’s missed three pointer with 5.8 seconds left after he brought the Pacers surging back with a made three with 27 seconds left.

Craig Smith left the game late in the first quarter with what the team called bruised ribs and did not return. More complete information is due Wednesday. “He’s dinged up pretty good,” Kevin McHale said.

The Wolves flew home after tonight’s game and play Atlanta for the first of two games this season Wednesday night at Target Center.
