Please completely forget my headline from my pre-game post tonight. Yikes!
The Wolves lost the game to a New Orleans team missing injured superstar Chris Paul, Tyson Chandler and ejected David West, but the biggest loss was Al Jefferson and his knee injury late in the game.
Here’s the skinny:
He said he heard a “pop” when he tried to block Sean Marks’ shot, landed fully on his right leg and the knee buckled. He also said it didn’t feelĀ nearly as bad after the game as when he mildly sprained his MCL in a September workout before training camp.
A teammate rolled into Al then and he missed more than two weeks, but came back to the final days of the Mankato training camp, sooner than expected.
“Just came down wrong on it,” he said.”It’s still a little sore, but not as bad as when I came down on it. It’s nothing like it was the last time. I couldn’t put any pressure on it last time.”
Jefferson limped out of the locker room after the game by himself and without any help or crutches.
The Wolves are now down four players: Al, Craig Smith, Corey Brewer and Kevin Ollie.
