All-Star gazing

The NBA All-Star Game is about to tip off. Just don’t look at Craig Sager’s hideous — even more than usual — Valentine-inspired checked-striped-pattern getup.

Of course, no Timberwolf is there. Al Jefferson should have been, and then wouldn’t have been anyway. So should have Kevin Love in Friday’s rookie-sophomore game.

Instead, you can cheer those former or shoulda-been Wolves: KG and Brandon Roy, of course. Even Indiana’s Danny Granger.

At the risk of beating an extremely dead horse by now and I know it’s talked about to death here on this forum, I wrote about the guy taken three picks after the Wolves took Rashad McCants 14th overall in the 2005 draft for today’s Sunday column.

Btw, the Wolves gather from all points tomorrow evening in Washington, D.C. for their first practice after  a five-day All-Star break and play the Wizards Tuesday night there.
