Randy Foye wore a protective plastic boot on his right foot while he watched his teammates play 3-on-3 ball Tuesday. With just 10 healthy bodies now, the Wolves will be doing a lot of that in practice for now.

Foye said his ankle felt better Tuesday,. but said he’s out for at least a 48-hour evaluation period, which means he’ll miss Wednesday’s game against Memphis. He vowed to be back at soon as Friday night, but acknowledged that sprained ankles often take longer than a few days to heal.

“It feels good to me,” he said after practice. “I would try to play tomorrow. They told me to sit out 48 hours and see how it feels.”

Foye was the latest Timberwolf to go down injured when he went high for Mike Miller’s ill-advised alley-oop pass in the fourth quarter of Monday’s loss to Washington, the Wolves’ 10th straight loss. His right foot landed on Jarvaris Crittenton’s foot and Foye went down in a heap. As hewrithed in pain on the floor he then almost got run over by Kevin Love coming down on a break on the Wolves’ next trip down the floor and had to scoot himself off underneath the basket to avoid getting trampled.

Rodney Carney also just watched practice after he got kneed in the, well, what he called “down there” in the second quarter.  He also is not expected to play Wednesday.

You know the Wolves are in trouble when Miller came limping off the practice floor as he often does and he’s considered one of the team’s healthy players now.
