David Kahn, the former Pacers GM and an early front-runner for the Wolves’ GM job, will be named the team’s boss at a noon news conference tomorrow.

The Wolves went back to Kahn Monday night after Portland assistant GM Tom Penn became the third candidate to withdraw from consideration.

I still haven’t confirmed what his hiring means for coach Kevin McHale and other front-office personnel such as Fred Hoiberg. I have been told in recent days they both continually have been told they are assured nothing when the new guy is hired, but I’d assume at least Hoiberg stays on in a personnel role.
