North Carolina’s Wayne Ellington was the most notable name this morning in what looks like the Wolves’ final group they’ll hold before Thursday’s draft.

I’ll be doing a live draft chat in about 35 minutes. You can start firing away your questions starting at about 1:30, when the chat goes live.

David Kahn again declined to answer whether the Wolves have, or will, talk to Ricky Rubio or Hasheem Thabeet before Thursday night, citing an agreement with the players’ agents to keep the matter confidential.

Kahn and the Wolves interviewed Thabeet at the Chicago combine last month, but hadn’t met with Rubio as of Monday.

When asked if Rubio was the most entertaining player — a ticket seller — in the draft, Kahn agreed that he probably was immediately, but said, “There’s a lot of good players in this draft.”

He called Thabeet the kind of player — long, a defensive presence — a team needs to win come playoff time.

He said Thabeet is “the kind of player we have to find in the next 16 months here. He doesn’t have to be 7-3, but (Thabeet) would definitely fill a need.”

When asked what the odds are that he will make a trade by or on Thursday night, Kahn paused for a long time, said he didn’t know and then suggested reporters ask him that question Wednesday because he’ll have a better idea by then.

Kahn isn’t scheduled to be available to reporters tomorrow.

“That was an unintended brilliant move on my part,” he said with a grin.

Yeah, but let’s see if he has any of those — intended or unintended — in him come Thursday night…
