Foo I do like Flynn I think he's a tough kid. Not sold on Rubio not a fan of Ellington. I played division 1 ball and can tell if a player can stay in front of his man on D. Flynn can Rubio and Ellington can not. That is the most important aspect to team D, contain ball. Rubio gets steals but can't stay in front of slow footed Euro's what is he going to do with the caliber of athlete in NBA???? As far as Ellington getting to FT line more, HOW??? he's never been a high attempts player for a reason, no attack off dribble cause his handle is poor. You either get to the FT line or not.... Not a teachable skill. Just my honest opinion. Not a matter if I like the players or not.

Joel P is better than Oden why would Portland trade him. He has settled into a nice NBA center. he can't score but never could.

I don't think they want Telfair and I don't think we are trading Flynn within the Division and theya aren't trading Rudy to us for the same reason

One thing to keep in mind is that Portland has already had Telfair and fair or not he didn't make many friends during his time there. I'm not sure they'd be falling all over themselves to re-acquire him.

Gendo

maybe not 100% serious, but think about it - they wouldn't miss any of those players (save Fernandez), they'd get Joel's contract off the books and gain more than 8 mill in expirings. they also get a PG in Telfair that they badly need - he's no superstar but he's definitely an upgrade over what they have.

the twolves dump 2 power forwards that shouldnt get time anyway on this team and a pg they've gotten everything they can get out of (inconsistent shooting and offense running and non-existant defense) for fernandez (who'd help get us our star in Rubio), joel (the big rebounding shot-blocker we need at half the dalambert price) and a decent SF to fill the minutes at the 3 with Gomes (letting brewer primarily be a 2 with Ellington.

I think its a decent trade that won't happen, but has some logic to it.

I still find it a little odd that neither ESPN or SI have reported that Rubio is for sure staying in Spain? Just find that kind of odd. They almost never get scooped this bad.

fiveanddime:

None of us know what Kahn will do, but I don't think how the roster fits together THIS year will weigh heavily in his mind. The point is pooling assets and making deals to set the roster up for next season and beyond.

So if they move someone it will be for long term value not to fill short term gaps.

oops. Forgot to paste in the comparison:

THREE POINT JUMPERS
35.6% Turkgolu
36.0% Foye

2 POINT JUMPERS
38.1% Turkgolu
38.4% Foye

INSIDE SHOTS
53.0% Turkgolu
49.1% Foye

EFFECTIVE FG%
45.8% Turkgolu
45.3% Foye

Most people will counter that by talking about Hedo's clutchiness, but in clutch situations (4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points) he shot 35.7%. For the purposes of comparison Gomes shot 37.8%.
