The Timberwolves, still without a head coach, announced today they’ll open preseason play on Oct. 5 at Bresnan Arena in Mankato. The Wolves will follow the opener with their only two preseason Target Center appearances, Oct. 9 vs. Toronto and Oct. 14 vs. Chicago, before heading out on the road for five games. A game previously scheduled for Mitchell, S.D. (Mike Miller’s hometown), was dropped. Not surprisingly. (Correction: Wolves say they never planned a trip to Mitchell, S.D.)

The Wolves open the regular season at home with a 7 p.m. Oct. 28 game against New Jersey.

Here’s the preseason sked:
Oct. 5 Milwaukee Bresnan Arena* 7:00 p.m.
Oct. 9 Toronto Target Center 7:00 p.m.
Oct. 14 Chicago Target Center 7:00 p.m.

Oct. 23 Toronto Sioux Falls Arena^ 7:00 p.m.
All times Central Bold denotes home game *= Mankato, Minn. ^ = Sioux Falls, S.D.
