Love’s surgery “successful”
Posted on October 22nd, 2009 – 12:12 PMBy Mark Wollemann
From a Wolves press release:
Timberwolves forward Kevin Love underwent successful surgery on Tuesday evening to repair a fracture in his left hand (fourth metacarpal). The procedure was performed by Dr. Andrew Weiland of New York City’s Hospital for Special Surgery and involved the insertion of three screws into Love’s hand. The typical recovery time for this type of injury is six to eight weeks.

Good luck to K-Love. We’ll see him by January.
I don’t know if I’ll go to a Wolves game this year, even if they give me a free ticket AND pay for my meal AND parking. I love watching basketball, but I’d rather pay to watch the home team have a chance than to see which ever star is in town for the night with the opponent.
Pfffffttttt I got a half season package to watch the Wolves win or lose !

jama - from the previous thread, I don’t think Brewer would be a restricted free agent if we decline to pick up his option. Sessions was one because he was a second round pick, thus the Bucks could file a qualifying offer on him, but we can’t do that for Brewer.
Love just got screwed!
I had two screws put in my right tibia after a fracture on the growth plate by the ankle as a youngster. I now have 1/2 of a screw in my ankle because they stripped one trying while trying to remove it after I stopped growing and they had to saw it off.
Love needs to make sure they’re using a properly sized screw driver when they take these things out.
Marty’s comment is not at all funny, BTW.
He better come back and play well or we won’t be able to trade him on the next draft night
j/k
But seriously we need to see how well the Love/Jefferson combo will work up front this year to see if it will work in the future or if one needs to be moved.
And I don’t think that trader Kahn will hesitate to move one of them for the right deal–even if they do seem to work well together.
There are five players left from last years roster now. I wouldn’t be very surprised if there were only two, or even one, left by next season.
Rejection, oh, my, Kevin don’t need to worry about this and that. Kahn stated he is getting the best care possible (don’t you read).
BTW, you are hardly alone with your tale of woe regarding tibia correction surgery.
BTW-2, this may disappoint you but I wasn’t attempting to humor you. (sorry)
I wouldn’t be sad if Love or Jefferson were traded, IF the right deal was out there, maybe a Love/Rubio’s rights trade to someone who is really starting over.
C-Note, what is the hypothetical “someone who is really starting over” and why would they come here?
Well, we know the Suns are willing to entertain Jefferson for Stoudamire talks. They’d probably be willing to talk Stoudemire/Love too if the other pieces involved are right.
No question Amare would be a better fit with our backcourt. Obviously there’s serious questions about his defense, but eh, we already have questions about that with Love/Al.
Gotta admit…a three man core of Flynn, Stoudemire, and Rudy Gay certainly has appeal.
Talked to an NBA agent today- His exact words: “How in the H#ll did David Kahn get a job in the NBA- I would have bet my house that he couldn’t get a job- let alone a head VP job. Donny Walsh couldn’t wait to get him out of there.”
The Wolves are a joke. Kahn is leading the pack. This team will not win 15 games this year. The worst thing is that Kahn is trying to use the old “con” of “wait until next year.” The guy doesn’t have a clue.
Go ahead- trade Al for Stoudemire. It will be another genius move by Kahn.
BTW, according to this guy NO ONE wants to come here.
Joe
Ramon came here; Rambis came here. NO ONE wants to? Please…
Marty
I believe he’s talking about a TEAM that wants to start over. There are certain teams in this league that could send away a veteran for two younger, talented players and ’start over’ ie the way the Sonics did when they traded Allen.
Joe Schmoe -
Do you have a real name? Likewise, do you have a real source? Until you do, your commentary is absolutely meaningless.
“I talked to an NBA agent today…”
Ya. And I talked to Samuel L. Jackson.
I talked to Michael Jackson.
Joe Schmoe is McHale and he talked to Duffy.
Joe Schmoe talked to an NBA agent today… and Logical Thinker played professionally in Europe too.
You can be anything you want on the internet.
Does that mean Logical Thinker is little Benny Woodside?
OffHisMedsstudent,
How many do-overs for the Wolves? huh? Still don’t see who we would get in exchange for Al and/or Kevin (or who would want to come to Minnesota).
Oh, yea, we got Rambis and Ramon. Yea, these are the guys (and equivalent) on the floor for another “do-over” in exchange for Al and/or Kevin!
Clearly you and c-note are insulting my superior intelligence.
Marty- I meant a team that is blowing it up, would maybe trade a good young guard and other (player or picks) for Love and Rubio combo. But its too early to start thinking about trading Love or Jefferson right now even for me. I actually wanted to trade Love and our last 1st rounder(I think 28th) to move back up in the top 8 on draft night. Lets see how they play together when he comes back.
Yeah med school matt explained what I meant better above.
Every year it is the same whinners. when we were winning with KG you didn’t like Spreewell or Cassel is a baby. Before this it was Wittman and i have to admit we had a right to complain about that one. Now though, our team is making some radical moves, new manager, new coach. Things are different and they are doing it in an unorthodox way and they have to. Why do they have to? Because nobody wants to play in Minnesota due to how Garnett was treated, so here is my suggestion to get better players. First we end winter, thats right just stop the snow and cold and open the beaches back up. Second is we will have to open a couple of non gender specific brothels. Third legalize marijuana, Marbury will play for free and if you offer him a dime bag a point he will be a thirty point plus player. These are just a few things that I think could be more radical than what Kahn is doing and i like what Kahn is doing.
The idea that “no-one wants to play in Minnesota” is pretty silly. I mean who wants to play in cities like Sacramento, Salt lake City, Oklahoma City, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, Memphis, San Antonio, Charlotte?
It has more to do with the organization and the team, and whether it is a place where the player can fit in on a promising or contending team.
If the Wolves begin to build a future as a team, then players will not balk at coming to Minnesota. They don’t balk at playing for Pop in tiny San Antonio. They would readily go to Cleveland to play with LeBron. Oklahoma City is putting together a promising future and they aren’t having a big problem getting young stars interested in playing there.
If you build it, they will come!
