A long look at Kurt

Here’s a good long look at your new Timberwolves coach Kurt Rambis, as part of our season advance coverage for tomorrow’s paper:

I wish him well but it might be a tough start.
On another note, I still wish we would have passed on Mayo and Love and gone with Eric Gordon or Westbrook. They are both going to have great years and they already had good years last year. Gordon looks great against the Lakers tonight.

C-Note, for goodness sake man, you can only make such decisions in the present not 18 months later.
Ex-Twolves had great games all over the place tonight. Telfair was particularly telling, since he looked really good with a team that had athletes to run with him and a semi-decent playbook.
Kind of sad to think the Clippers have it more together than we did last year…
Miller and Foye both had good games too, although a couple Wizards fans I talked to said they could clearly see why we bombed out trying to use Foye as a point guard. But both those guys are in an ideal situation with Flip and the free shooting Wizards.
That was the problem with our old team and McHale. It was a team of really good fillers. For some reason Mac seemed determined to make a team of scrappers and sixth men. I’m sure all of those guys will go on to have good careers now that they are put into positions to succeed and not to fail.
Nobody has said it in the last couple strings, so I’m not calling anybody out. But it’s a foregone conclusion that tons of folks are gonna visit the blog this season and flap, “SEE? I told you Foye and Miller were good! I CAN’T believe we traded them for a guy who isn’t even playing here!”
So I just want to proactively come on here and state that everybody EXPECTS Foye and Miller to do well in Washington. They are both good players, but they didn’t fit with The Wolves’ rebuilding time-table. The Wolves are building long-term assets and Rubio is a great long-term asset. Foye are Miller are both good players, but neither are foundational studs on a good team (Foye came off the bench in Washington and Miller only played 22 minutes as a starter).
I like Foye and Miller and wish them well in Washington. If they both do well for Washington this year, which I think most folks expect, it won’t mean the Rubio trade was a bad deal.
Washington got the better players for immediate impact and The Wolves got the best long-term asset. It’s a win-win deal and will continue to be even if Rubio doesn’t arrive for three years and even if Foye & Miller have strong seasons this year in Washington.
BTW… I still have no interest in Chris Kaman, but he went 18-16 last night in 37 minutes. He’s pretty productive when he’s healthy.

He’s always been good when healthy. he’s had some issues, but overall he’s very productive. just injury prone. and if/when Griffin comes back, he’ll be fighting for minutes.
I wish both Miller and Foye well, too. I tihnk they will do well with Flip, but neither will be HUGE contributors, just solid ones on a playoff contender (which is what they are anyway).
Good story Jerry
What Center, not named Dwight Howard, isn’t injury prone?
